I just had another VRBO inquiry asking about April 1-3rd availability. Although my unit will be occupied by my family I did do a search on the Pelican Beach Resort Destin website and found these deluxe plus one bedroom(dolphin) units available.

Discounted April Days Almost Gone!

Today is the last day to take advantage of the 15-30% discount for early booking for spring break and early summer at the Destin Pelican Beach Resort. My last post advertised a period of time in April that is discounted 30%.

My unit is now only available for 4 days during the 30% discount period. Those days are April 11-14 and the total rental amount is $626.94(includes tax and fees).

Early Booking Deadline at Destin Pelican Beach Resort

Just a reminder that there is a deadline of March 31 to get the announced early bookings discount of 15-20%.

Beachfront Resort Destin Florida

If you are finding this blog for the first time you may not realize that the Destin Pelican Beach Resort is beachfront. The Resort consists of two different buildings and one of those(where my condo is) is beachfront with two different views. The beachfront building has 2 bedroom units(sleeps 6) on an angled view of the beach. All the one bedroom units(sleeps 6) are directly facing the gulf as you can see from the picture I shot off my balcony (up above).

There is another building in this resort that has a view of the gulf but is not beachfront. That building is The Terrace and you will find penthouse units as well as 2 and 3 bedroom units.

Pelican Beach Resort One Bedroom Available Easter!

My neighbor in unit #1005 is right now bringing in new living room furniture and 2 new flat screen tv's. I have asked David to e-mail me pictures of the new "living room".

All the upgrades that they are doing will greatly increase the bookings. Right now David's calendar is open including the first week in April.

Newly Painted Exterior For Pelican Beach Resort

The Destin Pelican Beach Resort is in the process of painting their interior and exterior of their Pelican Building(on the beach). I believe they have completed their interior painting(common areas including lobby) and are in the process of completing the exterior.

Actually painting has halted temporarily but will resume on April 19th(after spring break). Right after they resume painting they will begin painting the walk-ways beginning on the 20th floor. These wet floors will be closed off to traffic for 24 hours so come back here for info about this.

Kids Activities at Destin's Pelican Beach Resort

Did you know that starting memorial day the Pelican's PlayZone Activities kick into high gear.

There are day programs as well as Kids night out for ages 4-15 yrs. Activities include
Super hero night, Pirates of the Caribbean night, Blizzard Beach, Poolside Crafts, Sand Castle building and much much more.

In addition to these Destin Pelican Beach Resort sponsored youth activities, remember that the Big Kahuana Water Park is just across the street.

My kids, my wife and I love going to the Pelican Beach Resort and our next trip down is the end of this month.

Why the Pelican Beach Resort is Still Marketing for Easter Spring Break

Yesterday I received a Newsletter for the Homeowners of the Pelican Beach Resort. I discovered while reading that the reason people are slow booking for Easter and spring break at the Destin Pelican Beach Resort is because of the unusually cooler weather being experienced in Destin.

Many are choosing to wait up until the last minute to book their Easter vacations while watching the weather reports for Destin.

This would also explain why the Pelican Beach Resort Destin continues extending the deadlines for discounts for early bookings.

Although my unit #1004 is booked for that time period, I have friends with Pelican Beach units that I can refer you to to book your Easter vacation on the beach in destin.

Pelican Beach Resort Destin Early Booking Specials Extended

I received an e-mail over the week-end from the management company for the Destin Pelican Beach Resort extending the deadline for early bookings. These special pricing deals are called Spring Break Early Booking special and Sizzling Summer Early Booking special. Both of these deals have been extended for bookings made by March 31, 2010.

Another deal was also extended to March 31, 2010. That deal is 30% off 4 or more nights for any Pelican Beach Resort unit except the penthouse units and 2 bedroom dolphin units(these are corner stack in Pelican building) for the dates April 9-16, 2010.

Spring Break Availability at Pelican Beach Resort Destin

I have been getting tons of VRBO inquiries about the availability of unit #1004(
Destin Pelican Beach Resort)for Spring Break. Most of the requests have come in for beachfront rentals during Easter week. Up until yesterday this unit was booked but someone dropped one day so we rearranged our calendar to free up this unit for rental beginning April 4th or 5th(check-in) and staying a minimum of 5 nights.

Good bye to my Destin Pelican Beach Resort Snowbird

For the last two and a half months a snowbird has rented and occupied my Destin Pelican Beach Resort condo. They are checking out this weekend on the 14th. I hope they had a great time and tell all their friends.

A very special family is checking in behind them. Kim Jetton has been battling cancer for the better part of a year and has finished chemo and surgery. She and her family are going to Destin to enjoy the Frazier's Pelican Beach condo in Destin. We have been telling them how beautiful the view is off the balcony looking out over the gulf.

We remodeled this unit when we were down in October and put the final touches on it in December. I personally cannot wait until Kim walks in and sees how nice her new temporary home will be. Kim has been through so much and this is a small way to help her start to enjoy life again.

Back when I purchased my 1 bedroom 2 bath(sleeps 6)Destin Pelican Beach Resort condo, I also purchased a 1 year subscription to the Vacation Rentals By Owner website.

In the last week I have had 7 inquiries from VRBO clients about availability and pricing. On my VRBO profile I have to list the prices based on the different seasons.

What some people might not understand who are using the services of VRBO to find a Destin condo rental is that the management company at the Destin Pelican Beach Resort offers Hot Deals specials for early bookings for the different seasons of the year and you quite possible might find a lower price by following these specials. In addition to these specials I also offer an additional 5% off the top if you rent my unit #1004.

Scrambling to find a Destin Pelican Beach Rental for Spring Break?

Earlier I wrote a post about the unit #1005 beside my unit #1004. I discussed the rates(if booked by March 15) for bookings from March 20 - May 27th. This should cover the spring break period.

If that unit gets booked(just might since I am advertising it) I do have an alternative suggestion. My friend Maris from Utah owns unit #314 which is a 2 bedroom 2 bath Pelican Beach Resort condo.

Destin Pelican Beach Resort Bookings For Spring Break

I am getting lots of VRBO inquiries for my unit 1004 for late March and early April.
My unit #1004 at Destin's Pelican Beach Resort is pretty booked for that time period.
However, my neighbor here in Tennessee bought the unit(1005) right next to mine and he does have availability.

Right now if you book by March 15th, this unit can be rented from March 20 - May 27th and receive a discount of 15% for 3-4 nights stay, 15% discount for 7 nights stay, and 20% discount for 5-6 nights stay. Another Spring Break Special Offer

Today I got an e-mail from the Destin Pelican Beach Resort management company announcing another Destin Spring Break Special Rates Deal.

A few weeks ago the Pelican advertised a similar offer for bookings during spring break.
This time the dates have changed a little but the discounts appear to be the same.

This newest promotion expires March 15, 2010 and is for dates March 1 - March 12, March 20 - May 27th. The discount offered is 15% off daily rates for 3-4 nights, 20% off daily rates for 5-6 nights, and 15% off weekly rates.

Although my March is booked solid for unit#1004 at the Destin Pelican Beach Resort, I do availability after the month of March. And remember, any discount offered by the Pelican Beach management company(they manage my unit also), I can add an additional 5% discount to that if you let me help you book with my booking code A1080.

More Pelican Beach Resort Destin Early Bird Pricing Coming

I wrote in my last post that the management company at the Destin Pelican Beach Resort is offering an early bird discount for the summer rates. The announcement says this discount expires March 15, 2010. It is my guess that they will extend this deadline 2 weeks and have it expire the end of March.

Beginning April 1st, I believe the Pelican Beach Resort Destin will offer an early bird special rate for the fall break season. This is the time that most of the people from my hometown of Dyersburg vacation in Destin Florida.

I just looked at my calendar for March for unit 1004 at the Pelican Beach and there is only one day open. Thank-you to all my readers who are booking my condo for their vacation to Destin.

New Summer Discounts at Destin Pelican Beach Resort

February 28 was the last day to take advantage of spring break discounts at the Pelican Beach Resort Destin.

Today, the management staff of Pelican Beach Resort Management Company announced a new Sizzling Summer Early Bird Booking Special.

What they are offering is 20% off daily rates for 4-6 nights or 15% off weekly rates for bookings made by March 15, 2010. The dates included in this special pricing are May 28, 2010 - July 1, 2010 and also July 7, 2010 - July 29, 2010.
