One of my all time favorite things to do when vacationing at the Destin Pelican Beach Resort is to fish off the Okaloosa Island Pier in Ft. Walton. This is only about 10-12 minutes away from Destin's Pelican Beach Resort.
Here is a link to their website and be sure to check out the blogger who is posting fishing reports. You will also appreciate the pictures of fish taken off the pier and notice how little it costs to fish off the pier since no license is required.
I have lots of fond memories of catching Bonita, Spanish Mackeral and my favorite salt water fish King Mackeral all off the Okaloosa Island Pier.
