We just updated our cabinets in our Pelican Beach Resort Destin condo #714. We hired Greg(who does lots of work for owners) to do this for us and we are really pleased.

Few Dates Left This Summer At Pelican Beach Resort Destin

I had a return vacationer to the Destin Pelican Beach Resort tell me today that she called the front desk and they have no availability in June and July. The management company manages about 270 units out of the 340 units at the Pelican building on the beach. BTW, I rent my units an average of 5-10% lower than the front desk.

Needless to say she was excited to rent my 2 bedroom at the resort for my remaining nights in June(27,28,29,30,july 1). She wanted 6 or 7 nights but neither of my Destin beachfront condos has much available.

My #714(2 br) does have 4 nights available beginning June 14th.
I also have July 7,8,9,10 and 11 open in Pelican #1004(1 br).

Destin Beachfront Condo Rentals

If you are online and looking for Destin beachfront condo rentals you are finding out pretty quickly that availability is very limited for the summer 2016 season. Please do not wait to find a lower price because by the time you figure out you will not find a better price, the original dates are gone that you could have taken.

If your dates are not available on my calendar please contact me anyway as I have some unpublished sources that just may have a condo rental on the beach in Destin,Florida available. This Destin Vacation Home Rental Listing Going Online

Just an update about the new sites I am getting these Destin Vacation Homes listed on. Both of these are now live or will be shortly. The first one is Vacation Home Rentals and the second one is Home Escape. 

Both of these websites above promise never to charge the owners or renters for the basic service but will finance their websites with premium services.

 With or without VRBO, my units are filling up fast. It would appear that many people are waiting until last minute to book and are having to scramble to find a Destin beachfront condo rental. This Destin Pelican Beach Resort Owner Not Going To Give In To VRBO

Over the last few weeks I have renter after renter(for my Destin Pelican Beach Resort condos) tell me they refuse to pay the 10% service fee to VRBO to make a booking in a unit signed up for VRBO to collect the payment. I understand their concern completely.

Now VRBO is telling all the owners that upon renewal of owners contract then each and every renter that comes through VRBO will accrue a service fee whether VRBO collects the rental payment or the owner collects the rental payment.

I had a nice long talk with a VRBO representative this morning and she said they have overwhelming support from renters thanking them for charging this extra fee. Her reasoning is that there is added protection for the renter and they feel "safer" with VRBO being in the middle of the booking. I thanked her for her time and will continue to look for alternative ways to advertise my 2 Destin Beachfront Condo Rentals. What I have found that works great for me is I allow the future renter to negotiate the fee with me and then after I talk to the front desk management company I get the renter a confirmation number and let the renter call the front desk with credit card information.

What is really happening is the VRBO/Home Away company just sold to another entity and this is a way to finance their purchase.

I will be posting alternative sites here that I plan to use to advertise my units and unless VRBO changes their plans they will not be included.

I am sure the Pelican Beach Resort in Destin played a major role in helping Destin grab that top spot. My family and I have travelled all over the world and not found a more beautiful vacation destination than Destin.
